About Coastal Ballet School

My name is Suzanne Bergin and I am the founder and Director of Coastal Ballet School. The school commenced in 2004 and now has many children studying classical ballet in the Drogheda, Donacarney and Clogherhead area.

I began studying ballet in 1976 with Maire Cole in Dublin. Then I later became a member of the Irish Youth Ballet Company and was a member from the age of 11 until I left in 1994. I have danced in many Irish Youth Ballet Company performances in the Gaiety and Olympia in many roles. I have also had master classes with the Bolshoi Ballet. After leaving the company I worked in the financial services industry until 2003 when I began Coastal Ballet School. For the last two years I undertook the Royal Academy of Dance’s Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies and was mentored by the Irish Ballet School’s, Emma and Sara Gannon. I successfully completed my studying in December 2005 and graduated in July 2006. I am a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance London and therefore can enter candidates for examinations.

My ethos is to be creative and imaginative with all my students. To encourage, educate and artistically influence them to the highest standards. I value every student’s individuality and cherish the education that they pass on to me.
